Wow I just think this is so crummy.. I found this website when I was researching something on one of my birds.. I was impressed at first because I found some good info but when I went to the main page it turned out to be just some idiot trying to pretend he's the parrot whisperer to make money.
I mean just looking at the OBVIOUSLY edited picture on the main page shows how much he cares about birds. Who in their right mind would try and hold that many birds at once, especially for a photo for people who don't understand parrot behavior.
Just a little bit dangerous for the birds and the person. He's trying to make himself look like some sort of bird god and that just makes me mad. Selling information on training is one thing but theres no need to lie. If your going to lie at least photochop the picture a little better.. jeesh!

The fact that he has 'two' wild birds goes against the law.

The Wild Bird Conservation Act of 1992 for one...

The idea that he trained a 'wild' bird in less than 20 minutes is another.

My heart goes out to the fids possibly in his care but at the same time, be wary of the Internet in regards to 'tips and tricks.' I get so angry when I see this nonsense that has no respect for the animal. Pets are not toys. Animals are not toys.

I guess some people really do think that animals can just be molded into whatever they want.
Sure there are quite a few behaviors I wish I could 'rid' my birds of. I'm sure theres quite a few behaviors my boyfriend wishes he could 'rid' me of too.

Flyte.. eyes wide open before and eyes half shut after. I'm not one for hissy fits, in general, but I do reach my breaking point. Mine just learned that I can fling a stiletto across land and sea.

Fids are up to us. Actually, all animals are up to us. Regardless of creature, there's a responsibilty. They didn't ask us (generally) to make them a part of our world.

I hate that site. Though i don't think the photo of him with the birds is photo shopped, except for faded edges but i don't think they used any program to add those birds. I think that people can turn their birds and pets in to whatever. It just takes training. I'm not saying i would force my birds to: talk, do tricks, go on its back, like baths/misting/showers, etc. though i do think with a lot of work any bird can do it.

And see that picture makes me want a Toucan even more. Though would probably never get one.

Oh I don't think theres anything wrong with a bird doing those things, if they want too. I won't force them to do anything that isn't necessary for us to do together to get along and be healthy. Madison will readily lie on her back when I ask her too or when I push her one wing a certain way. If she doesn't want to though, she says NO! and I don't make her. Only thing they HAVE to do is step up when I say so. she does a few other tricks like opening her wings all the way when I ask her how big she is, and hiding under her wing while I ask wheres Madison.. I've always considered them more of a game or a way to offer praise .. she's very shy and will usually only do these for me.
(she does the hiding under the wing thing at the vet though, every time. lol .. refuses to come out)
Tyler used to do this thing where I said whats your name and he said Tyler. One day when I asked him he kinda sighed and said like this long drawn out nooooooooo. then he disgustedly said his name. I felt so bad, lol.. obviously he felt it was beneath him to answer my silly question and I never asked him again. Other people still ask him because they don't understand.. he usually answers them but he sometimes gives me a look as if to say, 'Man these guys are dumb, they ask me my name every single day!'
As for the picture, I opened it up in one of my programs.. I could tell just from looking at the angle of his one arm holding the macaw that it was popped in there wrong. I could tell for sure when I opened it and zoomed in.
The guy could have taken a normal pic holding a bunch of birds.. that one was just ridiculous. It would have been much nicer to see him holding a single bird closely, showing a nice bind or something.
The whole thing is ridiculous. Train your bird to enjoy being petted by the whole family & friends! Wow we can actually force them to enjoy things?!
Make them say whatever you want them to say? Yah right. We all know how well that works.
I just can't believe this guy has the brass to say this stuff. I don't want some robot bird, I want my wonderful, sometimes crazy, always interesting & lovable misfits.

I had found this site about a year ago...I thought I would give my e-mail address just of curiosity what that might be...

This guy has sent me several e-mails some containg a lot of praise and advertisment of his work and links of videos showing things.I can tell you that he is not cruel with animals at least birds do not seem to fear him..The things that he sent me as tips are not crap.He says correct things that a good parrot owner can know most, from general research on parrots.

I'm not defending him or his work since I've not seen a whole thing, I'm just saying from the little I saw of it that it could help some people...

It really works!
....
WoooW Red you are a genious....:D

Whenever I'm looking for sights, I come across a lot of these "Train your bird in 10 Mins" rubbish. I dont even bother to read them, just click off straight away. It makes me angry when I see these so called trainers saying things like
Even If He's Mean As Hell!"
They aren't mean, they are probably scared and acts as any animal would.

i did that too. He sends like a million emails its annoying. They are now junk mail to me. He has alot of false advertisements.

I have seen this guys whole videos. He really makes a bird face their "fear", like when they are trying to touch a macaw he really forces it on the bird. Thats just not how I personally like to do things. I let my birds do things when they are ready and I never would force it on them. I never want to force them and lose any trust.

*sigh* These sorts of websites irratate me. Ok, so yes, I do agree with bird training but we can all do that, it's just a matter of perserverence and knowing your bird (IMHO). But this guy? :headwall: I'd like to teach him a few 'tricks', lol.

And the guy has a toucan's head on nhis shoulder...where's the body? Or is there one and I just can't see it??? *cough*Photoshoped*cough*

Didn't you know? He's so good he doesn't even need the bird's body to be attached.
What an idiot. lol. I think I'll go photochop my own self with a bunch of animals. you guys can let me know whether or not I should start my own animal training website. :D

You will post that no?Please?:D

Can I be there, standing at a corner?:D

As I've said before I haven't seen a whole video from him and I an not defending or admiring him or anything like that. The people I admire are ordinary people such as there are in this forum who can be owned by happy fids enjoying their lives as our pets...
But I can imagine that if he works with birds not of his own in sessions he cannot take the time to bond with the birds...When you take a non tame bird to the vet doesn't it face that fear? You will say that it is for it's own good, but isn't training supposed to mean the same?

Oh yes Sarah, you must post that picture.

I think what I dislike is that this guy is saying he can train a bird in minutes and we know it takes a lot longer than that. I can't say anything about This guy on this website as I've not seen anything HE has done, it just all the sites out there that are like these ones.

:35: :35: :35: :35: I couldn't agree more with ya.

Ok well. I was unable to find a recent photo of myself that I could use. I'm certainly not taking a pic of myself now so soon after surgery.. no one would speak to me ever again.
I was going to paste my head on Angelina Jolie but, not surprisingly, could not find a picture of her that would be appropriate for this forum.
Instead I found this picture, which required no embellishment at all.

Oprah training a feral monkey:

Flyte made a funny.
But I thought ferel monkies were taller than that.
Cheap shot ,...taken.

I never noticed the Toucan head! I think this website is terrible, too. Lots of people come to me (I'm a trainer) with these birds who are seriously messed up after going through that "bird tricks" training crap. Yes, you may get a "robot" bird right away, but in 3-4 years, the bird will turn on you and it wont trust you, so there's no way of fixing the damage! I especially hate training these birds because, since they have no trust for humans, they BITE, Scream, and are afraid of or are aggressive to EVERYTHING! That clicker-training also just makes my blood boil. A click is not a reward. A happy owner is a reward. Birds understand feelings and emotions-not strange clicks.
I love the Oprah picture!!:D

No there's a body. It's just kidn of hard to see because the guy is wearing a dark shirt, and it kind of blends in. Though if you look really close you can see it. Also you can see the toucans front/chest/body, it's all bright and yellowy.
