Parrots
Amy a Blue Front 'Zon
Jonesy a Goffins 'Too who had to be rehomed :-(

And a Normal Grey Cockatiel named BB who came home with me on 5/20/2016.
..When Amy was outside in the front yard with me,doing a one on one.
She was munching on grubs and twigs while I sat in the grass watching her.
She decided to climb into the shrub that is next to my front door and have a look around, when out of nowhere, came a Robin that started to attack her!
The poor girl screamed, and I rushed to recue her, only to have her climb my shirt and bury her head under my chin as she was trembling, clearly frightened out of her feathers. She let me actually HOLD her ( doesn't let me do that often) as I calmed her down talking softly to her as she let out little...amazon sounds is all I can call it.

Anyway, this afternoon I was cleaning up the yard abit, getting ready to mow the lawn, and as I got closer to that particular bush, I heard/saw a ROBIN come out from behind the shrub,so I peered in...and this is what I saw :)

All I can say is...

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow I never realised they had blue eggs!! Amazing

Are you sure those bright blue eggs aren't BLUE front eggs:54:

J/K of course. Guess that explains why the robin was being aggressive. I have always felt larger parrots and their hooked beaks do look rather hawk like and predatory. The robin probably figured she was going to eat it's babies. Poor Amy, she just wanted to sit in the bush and enjoy nature:15:

Amazing picture, Jim!! Looks like a perfectly formed nest, hope the eggs all hatch and produce more beautiful Robins!!

I hope they all hatch. :) Maybe if you're careful not to disturb them too much and have a good zoom, you can get pics of the babies?

Be careful around the nest. I once told my mom there was a nest with unfledged nestlings in her shrubbery, and she had to go look. Don't get so close, I said. Don't get so close to the nest, you'll scare them. That's too close, mom. Then Flop! Five little babies fly down to the ground and can't get back up. I stayed away from them so as not to scare the parents off, but don't know if they made it or not.

Well the bush is sooo close to my front door, all I have to do is open the door and I can peer right in. I just did that and saw Mama Robin sitting on the nest :D So I'm assuming the eggs haven't hatched yet.
