Look at those eyes! I think he likes me. My husband held out his arm and said “wanna step up” and he lowered his head and lunged. That was a clear no! 😂 must be a ladies man

Beautiful! Careful, greys are really good at worming their way into your heart. Just ask Avery! Gettin' all floofy for his daddy ❤️

I need to meet a large bird who I know doesn’t have a tendency to bite. I think since I own Conures it’s taught me to respect the beak and I’m too intimidated to try scritchins on a larger one, most of the time. I know how hard little Ona can bite 😬 I think he might have let me pet him but I was too scared to try it.

Careful Nyla! COuld be the new addition. You know me - i recommend small Amazons as the best 'big' bird. Predictably unpredictable.

I will say, it’s super satisfying to scritch a bigger birdie. So soft and floofy. Ava doesn’t let me do it often, but I love it when she does.

Nameliss likes head and neck scritches and normally I don't mind. But, when she's molting her head like now, I am at her beak and demanding calls. Over the decades my fingers are well trained. My fingertips developed sensors to identify pin feather stages of development. They auto move with caution or back away or freeze at those newbie feathers. She's so desperate for head scritches. To pass her cage I have pay a toll by doing them.

I wish my budgies let me scritch them. When I was raising babies they loved having their entire heads massaged but after three months old they didn't allow it anymore. I'm surprised Joey doesn't since she's so incredibly bonded to us and loved it as a baby. She can sit on my chest under my chin groom my lips and face for hours and would clean my teeth if I let her!
