Atlas - Green Cheek Conure
Hello! New member, previous bird owner but haven't been for a while. We're picking up our new bird later today (a green cheek conure named Atlas!) So, I use medical Marijuana. I do not smoke at all inside, but previously I vaped inside. I obviously know any sort of smoke fume or vapor near a bird is really bad but what is really considered near? Can I vape in a separate room from her and she still be safe or should I play it super safe and just do all of it outside? Sorry if this isn't allowed, I will delete if necessary

Vaping, is relatively new and our medical industry is working to catch-up. What they are saying at this point is that there are Lung problems that are connected to Vaping. Second hand Vaping, at this point, is not understood. That said, we know that Air Sacks are far more effected than Lungs, hence, why birds have long been used in Mines to warn of danger.

Homes with forced air heating systems transfers the air equally within the home. Add, the effect of Warm air raises and one quickly sees that what is in one room is exposed to all.

At this point, it would be better to avoid Vaping within your home. Also, if you are smoking Medical marijuana in your home, that smoke is deadly to Parrots Air Sacks.

Yeah that's mostly why I was concerned(because of how new it is). Like I said I definitely don't smoke inside but did vape. (Yesterday was spent clearing out anything harmful to birds within the house and general prep) I think I will just go ahead and play it safe and only vape outside.
