SO it is the 3rd month of this little galahs life. I understand that right now they are highly impressionable and need to be taught how to entertain themselves. I want this bird to like being held, but at the same time she will need to be in the cage for around 5 hours on weekdays so she needs to know how to function by herself too. Is this possible to accomplish? How do I do this? I visit her whenever I can which is at LEAST once a week. Tips appreciated :)

Why do I feel another sticky coming on...

I could write a novel on this one I guess. I will respond to this thread with a long post, but can't do it right now.

I'm going right now actually...I'm going to try and get her to play with a toy instead of snuggling under my neck.

Soooo the visit went pretty well. While it DID end up in a snuggle fest we also did birdy treadmill (stepping up over and over). I'm trying to divert her attention to destroying toys instead of snuggling or running around. It's not going too well. Whenever I present her a toy she gives an alarmed yelp. Anyone know how i can work on that?

Might be too soon for that stuff... Wait til the bird comes home for that.

Right now, just be loving and friendly. This bird "isn't all there" mentally yet.

Oki dokie. I would appreciate it if she would chew on a toy instead of my fingers lol.
