The addition onto my house will have big windows too!
And were building a Bird Shed. A 12'x18' climate controlled structure that can house the 8 excess budgies I have that live in flugh5 cages. They need larger cages so they can fly and I don't have the room in the house. I don't rehome them b3cause I don't trust anyone to give them the life they deserve.
I may also breed some English Budgies but only if I can find good homes for the babies. I'm kinda torn about whether to do it. English budgies are very desirable and not very available in the US unless you know a breeder. I can help people with locating breeders of gorgeous English budgies if anyone wants one.

They got the bottlebrush and wattle deluxe combo snack pack today ☺️

Gosh, your birds are beautiful. They look so lovely next to their flowers.
Peachie and Lovejoy say "Thank you @nkrbkr, you're very kind!" Actually Peachie is wondering how beautiful her and Lovejoy's babies would look .....!!!

I left a cupboard door open a couple days ago and when I got home Rocky was in the cupboard inspecting.

My husband picked up a used bird cage complete with perches, etc a few days ago for only $20. It wasn't a cage I would have wanted. It's 30x18x48 high- basically a lot of wasted vertical space for budgies. Its a cheap wire cage that anything larger than a cockatiel would probably destroy but okay for budgies.
My girls Joey and Cora live in our bedroom sharing a 30x14x24 cage and I don't trust either of them out of the cage when I'm not home so I've been wanting to give them a bigger cage without spending too much. I really hate when birds live in cages that don't allow any flight.
So, I cleaned up the new used cage and put it on its side- now they have a real flight cage 48x18x30 high! They can actually fly inside it! The only problem is when it's on its side it doesn't have a pull out tray so I set it on a 20x54 piece of plywood topped with cage paper. Not ideal for cleaning but it's very light so I can

just lift it up and change the paper. I outfitted it with lots of fun perches, swings and toys and both Joey and Cora went into it on their own and seem very happy with it. I actually put a small bird feeder in it filled with budgie seed. Joey goes in and out but I think Cora may just decide to stay inside. She came out of their smaller cage frequently but she looks happy in the new one. It has a great view of the bird feeders 15 feet outside the window.
It's really too big for the room but when my addition with a big master suite is finished in a couple months this oversized cage will fit in the new room nicely.

Heres Cora enjoying her new house.
