That last pic cracks me up because that's what he does when I get real close, it means he wants a 'wingpit' rub. lol.

I want to take some more at some point. But I have to catch him on an "pro-cam" day. Some days he is 'anti-cam' and will raise holy hell if I try to record him or take his picture. Other times he's very cooperative. Weird.

Robin lets me do that too. He has a lot of down feathers there and it's so soft. I know it's controversial because it 'can' stimulate some pet birds into sexual frustration and can lead to problems, which is why it's advised not to stroke down the back or under the wings, but for years I've never had any problems doing it with Robin so I take advantage of it .

Yeah, he'll actually let me hold his wing between my thumb and fingers and stretch it out. It amazes me how much he trusts me. Which actually is very helpful. It makes the routine exams I give him much easier.

Isn't it great to have a bird that does stuff like that?! I can do that with Robin too. Of all the birds I've ever had, Robin is still the ONLY one who has ever let me touch him that much. The other handfeds, nope. Perhaps a lot of it is individual personality too.

Edit: I just saw all the new pics, and wow! I have to ask, is Skittles a bird model?

I actually had a budgie once, Sammy, who loved to hang out in my armpit. When I had Peaches, she'd let me toss her around like a football pretty much. She was so docile.

Skittles loves scratchies, loves to be cuddled and petted, but isn't much for being 'held' for long periods. I can grab him in my hand and he won't put up a fuss until after about 5 seconds have gone by. I think it's more a personality thing too. He's always been VERY expressive and opinionated.

EDIT: PS, he should be a model. Even the vet, they treat birds and tell me Skitty is the most colorful sunnie they've ever seen.

I know a great part of it is his diet. He has always been a colorful bird, but his colors are far deeper and more pronounced now than when I first got him. It's nice to see the results of good care. It's reassuring knowing you are doing right by your fid.
