Snubbed by a rude parrot (pic heavy)

This afternoon, I made up some new toys and changed out Kiwi's cage for him. He seemed *super excited* as he watched from his play stand, just chomping at the bit to get to his new toys (which were very nice BTW, or at least I THOUGHT they were, at least):

Fun and full of toys

Filled up foot toy box

New "chain perch"

Massive new toy I put together today

SOOOOO..... After I deck his cage out with all this great new stuff, WHAT does the little crap-head do??????

Preens my husbands head

Climbs down his cage

Lets himself into his travel cage

AND WHAT DID HE WANT IN THE TRAVEL CAGE?

2 day old seed from when I brought him out on the deck the other night (and forgot to toss out the seed). Mind you, he has some FRESH seed in his cage, but no, only 2 day old seed will do, AND it is much better I guess than all these new toys:52:

In conclusion- I've been snubbed by a rude parrot

LOL Well maybe he will show some appreciation for the toys later.
Harley was shouting for "apple" so I cut up apples for everyone, then she threw it at me and asked "wanna grape?" So back in the kitchen for grapes. We are their slaves and they know it, I feel lucky when they show any appreciation!

Just LOVE LOVE LOVE your picture tutorial, April! The way you told the story with the photos, made me feel like I was right there witnessing it all in person.

You made some GREAT toys for Kiwi!! And the pretty boy seemed a tad bit ungrateful, yes? I'm sure he didn't mean it. I'm positive he will play with them like crazy.

Well, I got doubly snubbed. Not one bit interested in anything. In fact, he decided to retire early tonight and is fast asleep. He has just not been in a playful mood today. Maybe it's the fact it was sunny the past few days and now it's raining again? Or maybe the weather on Venus is not to his liking. Who knows

Thanks for sharing your funny story and pics. Very amusing. I'm sure when you're super cool parrot can spare a moment from napping and preening your husband's head and hunting down forgotten leftovers he will notice his wonderful new toys and have a great time with them.

GWJoe- Those videos are too funny! I wish I had better luck doing videos.

After he ate this morning, he was rather happy to see all his new toys Especially the great big one. I'll be interested if he does anything with the chain of plastic links or not, I see a lot of people have those for their birds, but am unsure what exactly a bird does with them.

Well, since I obviously greatly offended him with this last batch of toys, I just couldn't *not* buy a whole bunch of new ones yesterday for the spoiled rotten thing while at the goodwill His royal featherbutt need not know the bag of toys was half off and only cost $2.50:54: I will wash up and assemble some new ones today.

A nice little selection here

And a new toy basket for in his cage, or maybe the play tree. Haven't decided yet
