Birds are one of my favorite things to draw and paint. Having a parrot, you would think I would paint more parrots, but I don’t for some reason. These are watercolor, done from random online photos.

Yes, I painted them. Can’t take credit, really, the photographer who took the photos I worked from is the real artist!

Of course you can take credit! I agree photography is an art but painting what you see in a photograph with watercolors and achieving something this detailed and accurate takes amazing skill and talent.
