So Sootica has been living in the UK for nearly two months now, and I thought I would give everyone a little update, since you were all so supportive of us in our stressful big move!
She has settled right in to UK life and absolutely loves having her wings. She's still not fully flighted, missing a few flight feathers and quite a few tail feathers, but she can hover, dive, and turn on a dime. She keeps landing on the picture frames and hanging off them- always looking for a new perch. All the pictures in the house are wonky thanks to her interior design skills.
She is still obsessed with the dog. She has absolutely no concept of fear and flies right on to him. He's not keen on her but he is very docile and gentle with her. We try to keep them separated mostly for his benefit!
She's nearly a year old and the bratty puberty era is starting to descend. I would say we have a bad day about 1 in every 5 right now where she will be aggressive and flighty. The rest of the time she is still a cuddly, well-behaved angel so we're just trying to manage it as it comes.
She has this habit now of tucking herself into our hands, with her wings in between our fingers, and lies down. It's kind of hard to describe but here are some pictures and a bonus video
