African Grey
Hi,

I recently adopted this African grey and noticed his wings looking strange. Just a side note, I recently posted about the history of this bird: Link

Quick Recap, he has been cage bound his whole life, then became a breeding bird then again cage bound till I got him. He has never properly flown before, when he tries to fly he goes downward very uncontrolled till he crashes into something, only flies when spooked, always climbs up and down the chairs, I put him on. Not sure if he has some old injury in his wing which can cause this behavior?

Thanks,

Hardus

Speak to your avian veterinarian, this is the best way you will get answers. However I do agree with you. He may well have an old injury that causes this.

this can also be weakness and wing drop from that. Even a cage bound bird that hadn't flown should not have wing drop
Agree vet check
Also weigh and monitor weight
