Sugar High

I recently gave my Parakeet some treat sticks ( Katee Honey Flavor ) and she absolutley went to town on them! Our little bird was devouring it. We notice she was getting a little frantic and agressive. Was she just excited or was it a sugar high from having to much honey? The treat is honey flavor and packed jammed with seed and such. Any ideas?

Start with the ingredients listing on the packaging. The nearer to the top a specific ingredient is, the greater is overall percentage.

Terms are important when reading ingredient labels. When they list honey 'flavor,' it rarely contains honey, but it for certain contains sugar, whether natural or one of the many chemical derived variances.

Long story short, likely had a bit of a sugar high going...

Hmmm, Not even a single word regarding the 'honey' favoring or whatever they're using to provide that flavor.
