In Nova Scotia we are finally getting some warm weather!

This may be a silly question, but I was wondering, since Kyo likes her water REALLY cold, would it be okay to toss an ice cube in it? I know people do this for dogs, would it be safe enough to do for a parrot? Please excuse me if this is a stupid question ><

I've heard of people giving their birds ice cream and sorbet. I never have but I do give my bird his chop pretty much straight from the freezer.

I tried giving Kyo some frozen berries and she LOVED them that way! I couldn't get her to eat fruit much at all, but she really enjoyed them like this :) she had fun making the room look like a massacre took place too

I don't see why not. I know plenty of critters that enjoy a good ice cube, some of my own included ;)

My conure prefers ice-cold water, and especially enjoys water with ice cubes within. It's not harmful at all. And if it makes your bird drink more water, than all the better :)

My friend freezes fruit into the ice cubes and gives it to them..her fids go crazy for them!

I checked it with my vet after the whole "ice water kills hot dog" scam. Perfectly safe.

Thanks everyone! Kyo will be a happier bird this summer now :)
