Sun conure has damaged my apt

Get him someone that dosent hate him is the best advice I have...

I hate this bird!!!!

There are many people out there who LOVES birds... Believe me, when I say: you're not the only one qualified... Why don't you find some of those people?

I don't think she hates him. Judging from the rest of her posts, it sounds like she loves the little guy and spends quite a bit of time caring for him. She was clearly frustrated with him when she created this thread. But who doesn't get frustrated with someone they love from time to time?

DontEatTofu, I hope to see more of your posts on this forum. There are a lot of folks here who are super supportive and will help with any questions or concerns. I admire your loyalty and dedication to this bird.

Isn't the security deposit designed to cover stuff like this? So at most it would cost the whole thing, right? Which would suck to lose, but considering it's already out of your pocket it doesn't hurt quite the same as ponying up.

Just something to point out: Hate is a strong word, especially towards something that tends to love implicitly. If you really care for this bird, accept the problems that come with it.

That being said, I hope you find the information you are looking for here. You can really find lots of information and help. :)

Well, I'm back. A huge thanks to all of you for the bits of advice, especially regarding fixing up the damage done to my apt.

Btw, I use LOTS of hyperbole in my speech online and off. So, yes, I use the word HATE very loosely just like I will say "this is the best day of my life!" if I happen to have my favorite dessert or something like that. If I REALLY hated Tofu he'd either be DEAD, set "free", or locked in his cage all day.
I don't have the heart to clip his wings. When I use to clip them it was sad to see him just fall to the floor. Then there was the fear of someone stepping on him. And I'm not even cruel enough to lock him in his cage except for when I'm not home or at night when he goes to sleep.

But anyway, the deal now is this. I HAVE to rehome him. My bf and I of five years have decided to move in together. He is a manager at a hotel and works nights often (graveyard shifts). There is no way he will get any sleep after hthose shifts. In addition to that, Tofu attacks him. After almost six years Tofu hasn't taken to him but Mr. BF hasn't tried and wants nothing to do with the bird. The bird is a deal breaker and giving the fact that I'm frustrated with Tofu --- the holes in my shirts and blouses, thconstantly cleaning up bird poo everywhere (my fault because I won't clip his wings), the cage cleaning, etc.
I'll be sad but relieved but I'm SCARED of not finding a GREAT home. I REFUSE to give him to just anyone. And I'm not looking to make a buck. I will give him to the right person. So, how do I go about rehoming Tofu? I don't know where to start. You all are so darn knowledgable. Advice and tips will be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all in advance!

You should post in the adoptions section here. There are quite a few people from Texas that I bet would be more than willing to give him a great home. If I was closer I'd take him. But I'm in Georgia. I'm glad the damages are corrected, but sad he's a deal breaker. I don't recommend just giving him away on Craigslist either. You never know who you're dealing with on there. Or google local bird rescues. They wil be sure to find him a fabulous home. :) hope this helps!

yea...craigslist frightens me. no way I'm going that route! thx

Almost all rentals change the carpet when they change the renter and give the apts a new coat of paint Sorry but I'll not be coming thru Dallas until after Sept 30th if you still have him and want someone who will take good care of him Drop me a line or a post around that time.
