Well as most of you know, I got my sun conure just 2 days ago, we named him Cameron-Jack, all one name. He about 6 weeks old now(Hatch date 5/09).

I have a couple of questions, he seems healthy and the vet said so too, we went yesturday and he was, if I remember correctly, 116 kg, the GF is bringing me a scale later today so I can record the weight of the bird. Otherwise he seems healthy.

He loves being held but one thing I have noticed is all he does is sit up by my neck and eventually falls asleep as I pet him.

Also I see him trying to eat pellets, so I believe he slowly becoming weaned but I was going to try to go to 2 feeding a day now, how would I make the transition from 3 feeding to 2 feedings?

He also doesn't seem overly interested in toys, he will chew on them a little bit, bumb his beak to it, but otherwise, doesn't do anything with them. I did show them to him a little but otherwise he showed little interest.

Right now I put him in his cage to walk about and so I could move some furniture about but how often should I have the baby bird out with out causing any spoiling problems? I pretty much keep him out for a hour or two, we sit down watch tv, I put him up to sleep then a hour or so later I take him out again.

Also, around what time will he gain his full feathers? His wings and most of his back look healthy enough, it just under his beak and around where his crop is that look a bit scraggly. Is this normal? I have pictures that I can post later if need be.

Lastly, he is constantly chirping when he is in his cage, I'm thinking this is just him telling me that he wants out but just thought I'd throw that out to anyone who may have a bird and knows more about this.

Edit: Another thing I noticed, on the upper part of his crop there seem to be something hard, I'm thinking it a bone and it doesn't seem to be bothering him(He like it to be petted to be honest) but is that normal?

Lucy is just now learning to play with her toys and she's very cuddly. more pictures!!!!

Pi would do the curling up on my neck and napping thing ALL the time when I first got her. That was all she wanted to do when I met her at the breeder's as well. In the past week or so she's started playing more and more. She is absolutely FEARLESS about new things. He sounds like a sweet little baby! Pics pls.

I'll have to start taking some more pictures lol, with work and the bird I've had 0 time ^_^
