Switching a CAG from sticks to granules?

Okay.. so my future CAG is currently on Tropican Sticks. While I CAN get it from a store in Ontario and have it shipped, it won't arrive in time for my bird's arrival in mid-May. Which brings me to my next question - is it okay for me to switch (even temporarily) from the Stick size to the granular? I've done this with my cockatiels and pionus, but never with a larger bird. And CAGs are notorious for being creatures of habit...

Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but I **DO** want Yvons to be comfortable

Agree, new environment, people, etc is a stressful situation. Different food should be avoided if possible. Also ask what treats, foods, fruits etc he loves. Give a bit extra of these. You will learning each other's habits and more. Minimizing differences is important. Your new friend may tolerate some differences. Then be totally intolerant of others. Example; yesterday I moved my CAG's standing light slightly when cleaning. She had a tantrum until I let her out. She went around to light, rocked it. Went back into cage and perched under light as normal. I honestly didn't see any difference. I watched her. She knows touching light is off limits. It was like she was showing me that she was in charge of her environment! Your new friend will have his own individual set of do's and do nots. You're gonna have fun learning them.
