I have made a tabletop foraging box for my fids using a Tupperware-type plastic container. It is about 6" deep, 24" wide, and 30" long. I put a handful or so of timothy hay from the pet store (used for small furry critters), and things like cardboard tubes, wine corks, and small foot toys in it. Also, Nutriberries, seeds, and other treats. The birds can make as much of a mess as they can, and I can clean it by emptying it in the garbage, after taking what I want to keep out. My cockatiels LOVE it, and will run from the tabletop playgym to it as soon as I put them down. They are ground feeders naturally. My lovebird also loves to play in it. I put a bendable rope perch bent like this ^ over the edge, and they use that as a ladder to climb in & out. Though, it is shallow enough that they can hop onto the edge anyway. It keeps my table and livingroom clean, and gives them a fun place to make a mess, that is easy to clean.

Can you post a picture please.

I'd love to see a picture as I'm always looking for new ideas...

yes picture please, sounds like a great idea!

Sorry, I do not have a digital camera! It is just a plastic storage box, like one would buy for storing clothes or other items. You can buy it from Walmart or Target or any general merchandise store. It comes with a snap on cover, which I'm not using. And put whatever you & your birds like into it. Again, sorry I have no digital camera, but, I am an old man who is barely able to use this computer. I'm the kind of guy who would still be using a rotary dial phone! LOL
