- Gcc- Conlan... Sun Conure- Mouse...Jenday- Kellan... RLA- Happy...B&G Macaw- Rhage
My 10 month old Sun Conure was hand raised alone, by someone else. So she has no bird social skills and thinks she's human. She gets very uncomfortable around my Gcc, who can be a bully if provoked, but usually ignores everyone.
Mouse, the Sun, has no idea what to do and will go through a series of movements, from avoidance to puffing up, to opening her beak, to flying off, to trying to 'push' the Gcc away. It's like she's confused on what to do. My Gcc ignores her and I never let them close enough for something to happen.
As much as I love Mouse she's over clingy and has to be all over me. It's not like the play stand will keep her busy, but she refuses to participate in any 'bird' activities. She's super sweet and I'll admit I let her get away with this too long but I hoped placing her cage next to Conlan's would encourage her to pick up on bird language. Isn't happening. She can't even take a bath because she has no idea how to do it. So she gets a good spray every other day.
What can I do to try to get her to be more of a bird? I'd eventually like to be able to let both her and my Gcc out together without worrying about Conlan misinterpreting something and being mean.
Any ideas?
