Just wanted to share my little family of Texas clearbody budgies.

The mom, Gris, she's on chicks right now.

Brother and Sister from clutch one.

Lutino or lacewing from clutch 2, I haven't decided what she is yet.

Young female from clutch 3. I was going to keep her instead of clutch 1 female for line breeding but clutch 1 female has bonded to a pied male I've been trying to mate for over a year now.

I know my Texas's are not the best, but it's not often to see them so I thought I'd share. :)

They're gorgeous! I so love Budgies.

Aww, count me in the budgie lovers. So pretty.

Why do they call them Texas Clearbodies? Just curious. . .

You know, I call my budgie flock - my colour-sound-psycho therapy. They are always positive and I really relax next to them!
Your birdies are wonderful!

A good Texas clearbody has no color in the body, so a green bird is yellow with the black marks and a blue bird is white with black marks. My hen is grey so I never end up with perfectly clean birds but my youngest yellow hen is pretty close to clean. This color first popped up in, you guessed it..Texas. :D So a clear body color of the variety that originated in Texas. There is another clear body type but the inheritance is different. Texas is sex linked but since I have all clear body chicks from this pair, both parents are clear body, but the dad is a bad colored clear body, too much green.:22:

That's super interesting. I really like that color. Thank you for explaining that.

Another budgie lover here :). How beautiful your birds are! TCB that's a rare mutation. I'd love to have an aviary full of English Budgies.
