That Scent

My indian ringneck doesn't smell, but If I huff near his nare, there's a nice smell. He thinks I'm crazy, and I only get a few sniffs, otherwise he tries to give me kisses, which Ive been trying to stop.
I'm a parrot huffer :p

That's another one of those birdie I love you things... Amazon musk!

I get that one a lot. And it's much more pleasant than macaw puke!!!

BAHAHAHAHAH!!! That one had my smiling and gagging at the same time because I know 'em both. :54:

It smells to me like a pheromone. I did a small informal study on androstonone when I was in grad school for my ethology course. It smells very similar (to me) like androstonone. I notice it whenever I get close to him, when I pet him, or when he is glad to see me.

We just adopted a yellow crowned (not even a year old yet) and the first thing we noticed was the amazon musk. We just want to huff her constantly LOL but she's not quite comfortable with us enough to let us just randomly huff her. She will give us kisses though and she smells sooooo good!!!! :)

If I don't get a daily dose of bird smell I get the shakes :)

Couldn't we get arrested for huffing an Amazon?
