As I was making my coffee this morning, the Professor launched himself off his perch and flew across the room and landed on my head. He was very pleased with himself.
I am still debating about clipping his wings. Skippah is so stand offish and quiet, I am wondering if clipping his wing dented his confidence and thats why he sits so quietly all day?
I cant believe how noisy and active the Professor is compared to the Skippah.
I don't want to inhibit the Professor, but I don't want want him flying out the door.

long clip him ... clip but like the first two/three/four primary wing feathers, ON BOTH SIDES and this will allow partial flight without allowing him to fly too far, fast or high ... this is my favorite way to clip birdies!

Quick update.
Today he decide the perch is dull and he has to fly to me where ever I am.
He lands on my arm if I am quick enough to hold it out, my head if I am not.
As soon as he lands on me, he makes his way to my shoulder and start coo-ing and rubbing his face on my cheek.
Its really quite pathetic.
Skippah is disgusted in the whole thing.
Skippah literally turns his back when the Professor is getting any attention or calling for some.

hahaha that is so cute!!!
i hope Skippah doesn't feel left out. glad to hear your new addition is working out well!! please keep us updated (i.e. Pics!! because we're addicted)
