The honeymoon is over.....................

I think Mac has been testing me a little. Yesterday afternoon when I had him on my hand watching TV, he slowly bent over and took the very tip if his beak and pinched the upper portion of my hand and just set there with looking up at me as he was pinching my hand. It wasn't hard, it was like a little pressure pinch. Then he would squeeze a little harder when he saw he wasn't getting a rise out of me or me saying "OUCH" or "DON'T BITE ME". I did none of those things. I just slowly reached down and grabbed his beak and gave it a gentle pull and asked how did you like that? He didn't because he was the one that gave a squawk and backed away from my hand and let it go. hahahahahaha.

Then I asked him now are we finished? He just sat there looking at me. Then in a few minutes he fluffed up and started grinding his beak. So I took that as a sign he was content.

Good thing he is with you, a person with lots of bird knowledge. I can just picture him and you testing eachother.

Thanks Di,

He's something else alright. He keeps wanting to perch on my shoulder, but I'm telling him NO, there will be none of that until we form a trust between the two of us. Then maybe we will continue that practice that his previous owner allowed him to do.
