The importance of nail clipping

Yvons got one nail trapped around his cage top today. He's okay, but he was unimpressed with me for a while. I'd fallen behind on his toe trims and ... yeah. Had to pull him free and trim his one toe.

So just a reminder, folks - trim those toenails!

I agree. Not exactly for that. Nameliss likes to climb all over me. Long nails with pointy ends draw blood.

I always KNOW when a nail trim is due. Lucy OWA especially gets really pointed nails, and MY Being OLD, with "thin skin" I will look like I went into a cactus just picking her up! lol

I have this issue terribly with Buddy (the B&G macaw). His balance isn't the greatest because he doesn't use his wings at all, so he grips hard, and my hand looks like I was wrestling feral kittens when he's overdue for a trim.

I so much agree. Nameliss can flap & fly but doesn't. The gripping while sliding around my arm. I don't want to move to fast for fear of deeper gripping. Once I was grabbed around the wrist. I was in fear I'd look like a newbie phlebotomist got ahold of me.

Yep Juliette gets snagged on things if her nails get too long. It gets really dangerous for her toes. She gets them done every six weeks. We are regulars at the groomers.
