Well, the last of my rescues from "the old days" is gone. My beautiful, sweet Albino Cockatiel, Angel, died last night. I had him for about 17 years. He was adult when he came to me, so, we're not sure how old he was. Just 2 weeks ago, my other birds from back then, 2 budgies named George & Gracie, both died within hours of each other. They were a M/F pair that I adopted together, and for some reason, never bred. I had them about 10 years. She died first, and he stood over her body for some time, and wouldn't let me take her away. Of course, eventually I did, and he was dead by that night. They were inseperable and I know that he just couldn't live without her. So, since I re-homed the finches, and the pineapple conure that I was rehabilitating, my flock is now down to 1 cockatiel, 1 lovebird, 1 parrotlet, and 3 budgies. All under 3 years old. I've repeatedly promised my wife to cut down on taking in new birds, but, birds in need seem to find me. I just turned down an Umbrella Cockatoo because I don't have room, or time, that that baby needs. So, we'll see what happens. Fly free, my beautiful babies! I'll hold you all in my heart until I can hold you again in heaven.
