The Latest Parrot Fashions?

no......not even the urge..........they would rip me to shreds

besides, the GW's look pretty festive in their natural state

hahaha but wharfrat, what about easter, no little bunny ears for the GW's? or a party hat for new years :09: :54: hehe

YES ! I was tempted to buy a Halloween themed flight suit for my budgie 2 months ago. The little ghosts and black cats on it drove me crazy. When I get a larger bird for Halloween I will dress it up as the avian fashions pirate costume lol

Tab, I give you permission to come do it yourself :D

...um.....guilty. ;)

haha wharfrat: challenge accepted ;) hehe

ruffled feathers that is sooo adorable!!
question- how do you get them on a bird? i was going to get Fargo the christmas outfit, but then i thought it would probably be too hot (its summer here) and then i was looking at the hoodies for winter!! but i have no idea how you get them on ?

Gil has the flightsuit and the junior hoodie. both are easy. basically just lay it down on a table and set the bird on it and wrap around and velcro. 'hard' part is making sure you get it around their "shoulder" (when putting it over the wing the first time, i had it around the top of the wing instead of lifting the wing all the way out. he was so annoyed with me! haha)

ohhh thank you! :)

so there is velcro!! i was thinking it was just all joined, and i had no idea how you would get it over their head and through their wings :p

haha do you have a picture of Gilbert in his hoodie? :)

I'd lose a limb if I tried putting something on Niko.

LOVE birdies in costumes...but not for mine. :)

Hahahah I sure do, I just love the cute hoodies too! I want one for Audrey but I'm not sure if she would like it lol!

tried putting "antlers" on my German Shepherd once............it was a costly lesson :o:54::11:

I'm talking about a dawg that tried to kill a running lawnmower before

I was able to dig up the picture a friend of mine emailed me over the years. She breeds Eclectus, and she dresses them up for special occasions. Here you go:

OH the thanksgiving costume is hilarious!!!

Hehe, I would LOVE to dress up Kiwi sometimes.... He would just look so adorable in a little chefs hat, or a little bow tie. However, I wouldn't ever actually "dress" him in anything. Unless it's for a good reason (like keeping an animal warm) I think it's kind of mean to dress up animals for your own pleasure. They don't understand. Thank goodness for Photoshop though, I have quite a bit of fun accessorizing him with that!

i know it sounds nuts but with my pets i have seen dressing them occasionally as a form of training. With my dogs, i use it to reinforce the whole 'if you do this when i ask you to, i will reward you' idea. (Like doing silly, cute tricks--performing for attention and rewards).
With Gilbert I was hoping to keep him that cool with being handled and possibly to have him happy wearing a harness and/or flightsuit. So far he is fine with the hoodie for a while, as it fits well, but "his size" flightsuit runs large and he doesn't care for it. He was bribed for the photo........and i don't really feel guilty bribing/rewarding when it's not done excessively.
I never even tried it with Georgie because with her personality, i just know she would have HATED it. Gilbert is kind of chill about everything in general and goes with the flow.
