Think I'm too old to get an Amazon

Thanks! Making an inquiry about a Panama Amazon as we speak!!!

Absolutely! I'm actually leaning towards finding an older bird, and have already begun my search locally. There's a sanctuary here in San Diego that I'm going to look into next week. And SoCalWendy, I'm going to look into the Clairemont shop as well.

If anyone who lives here in San Diego or So. Cal comes across a special Zon in need of a great home, please PM me!

Oh great, let us know what you find. And I will keep a look out too.

YAY!! I love them, they are awesome!!
Can't wait to see what you end up with :D

when it comes to pets the life you save today could be your,s my birds give to much love and joy to me it helps me get up every day ,a young or older bird will depend on the bird a older bird that has a lot of problems like screaming will only give you probs so look at the bird on a few times and see how it is and how it is with you and go from there

Can't go wrong with a Panama, especially if you meet first to see if you"Click". There's tons of threads on here about "a problem with my amazon", i dare you to find one about a Panama. Ask the folks lucky enough to have a true Pan and (to the best of my knowledge) they all will tell you it's the easiest/easy going bird in their flock( no drama, happy, plays well with others, etc).

I'm excited about the prospect of getting one. There is a young one fairly close to my location. People don't have time for it, blah blah blah. Should know by next week if it will be coming home with me!

Doing a lot of reading about Amazons right now, and am sure that I'll have questions once he or she arrives.

I don't know about that, Henpecked. Conures seem to love zons and zons, conures. I've never had a single problem between them and they often hang out together... it's as if they know they come from the same neck of the woods.

Just poking fun at the conure lovers.

I'm going to try to upload an image of the bird I'm thinking about rehoming.
