how old...if its over a year old i dont think its a sun. could be a jenday conure..but if its really young it can be a sun

I really don't know! She said around a yr but with all the green on wings and his back isn't fully green another bird breeder told me he is between 6 months and a yr!

well if hes over a year old n still have all that green hes not a sun he will be a jenday

He is adorable:) He looks more like a Sun than a Jenday to me. My Jenday had alot more Green on him than that.

Beautiful bird you have there.

Different topic, Is that Corn Cob bedding or are they pellets you have in the top of the cage tray?

Regarding Corn Cob bedding, Corn Cob bedding has been known to promote the growth of harmful mold which can cause aspergilllosis in birds.

Thats a gorgeous bird there. :)

Looks more like a Sun Conure to me.

Yes I've said we need another one too to call Chong! My hubby says no :-...(

I'm sticking with Sunday conure!!!! Wings and stomach say jenday to me!

What ever s/he is, they are lovely. :] Congrats!

Left is a Sun (Barker) and right is a Jenday (Con). I would say you're the proud owner of a Sunday/Jensun conure. You can tell (usually) a hybrid from a normal by their wings. The yellow spots do not occure on Jendays but a Sun conure's wing is most yellow so that's how the yellow gets there.

Either way you have a stunning bird :) enjoy your new Fid and share pics whenever you can!

Wow! I'd love a front and back shot of both of your guys! Would help greatly in telling the two species apart!

OMG that look on Barker's face. I literally laughed out loud when I clicked on the picture.

Barker isn't the biggest fan of my phone so that's her "omg what is that!?" Look. She's an odd bird lol Just a note about the pics, Barker is a red factor Sun so she has more red than a regular (pics don't do her justice) and Con's red mask is odd for a Jenday. Enjoy :)

Half makes me wonder if Con has any sun conure in him... even the red in the stomach don't look quite right for a jenday! He's still gorgeous, though!

I was thinking more along the lines of both of them in one image... right next to each other... one image of them facing the image.... one of them facing away from the camera.

I wish I had a shot of my cherry head and mitred together, with them facing away from the camera, but I didn't think to make a species ID album until after my cherry heads passing... and the two didn't even get along together... but I did manage to get a few photos. This is one.
