I think it is fascinating that a 60 gram bird will sleep in the same room as and have no problem with being held upside down by a 100+ pound human. The human-parrot bond really fascinates me...I just felt the need to post this.

It is quite something. I can never get over how complacent Pixel is about being handled. I can hold her beak, stretch out and examine her wings, hold her feet, toes, hold her upside in my palm, with no complaint from her. Pretty trusting for a 130 gram prey animal!

Trust, is key. If they aren't bonded with you and can trust you with their life, that "ain't" gonna happen!

That is what happens when they are raised with humans. Animals feel most comfortable with the animals they were raised with and they act like they are one of them. My cat was raised with my dog and she now truly belaives she is a dog, she growls at the mailman and barks at squirrels, yes I said bark.

I guess that is true, compared to some parrots we are quiet! But we are so big compared to them and we are predators.

Yes it is very interesting.
To have the trust and love of these creatures is remarkable. Everyday I spend time with them astounds me. Each with their own personality and quirks. I can see how people can get caught up with having several species because of the different personalities. I love to just watch them play having such inquisitive minds.
