Millie, SI eclectus
Ill be picking up my baby from the airport tomorrow. Millie, the Solomon island eclectus will be home! She's just under 5 months old. I've read every article on the first day I could find as well as what the breeder sent me. I won't crowd her, but I'll talk to her. I won't hold her until she makes the first move. Everything is cleaned and ready for her. Is there any more advice you guys can tell me from personal experience?
I'm so nervous but so excited!

So exciting! Congratulations!!:jumping40

Can't wait to see pics of your new baby!

Oh, there will be plenty of pictures!

Take time at the airport to talk to her before you put the cage in the car, then talk all the way home!

congratulations! Im exited for you!!!! :D:D:):)

How exciting! Im so jealous! My baby SI doesn't get to come home till January! Post lots of pics!

Oh how fun for you and Millie!!!! It sounds like you are ready for Millie. I did exactly as you described with Oliver when I brought him home and within a day he was settled in. My biggest upset was my dog which was not what I expected. She was petrified of the baby parrot. Go figure!

Congratulations!! Can't wait to read about all the adventures to come!

Congrats!!! You'll probably have sleepless night tonight thinking about tomorrow.... :)

So excited for you !!!!!
Let her settle down for a few days
Talk to her, let her know she is in a good place and loved.
Do not attempt to take her out the cage, let her make the first move.

Good luck

I've rewashed and dried everything. I'm about to go out and get her food so everything will be fresh. All the windows in my place are open to air out everything even more... What else?!

Today is the day and I hope you have an opportunity to post lots of pics.

Everyone here gave you great advice. I can't add anything else. Oh, Congratulations!!

There will be lots of pictures by tomorrow, I promise! I might try to take some tonight, but she might be nervous and I don't want to push her.

Okay, we're home and she's in her cage. Sort of. The door is large enough that I could put the carrier in it so I just opened the door to her carrier. She'll come out on her own. In the meantime, I'll sing to her and read to her.

She is the most breathtaking thing I've ever seen in my life.

Can't wait to see pictures! ;)
