I am so excited, tomorrow is the day we go to get my Vos Eclectus!
It is not supposed to snow heavily, but the temp is going to be a high of -16C and a low of -31C. We have a 5-6 hour drive each way, so please keep your fingers crossed for me that it goes well and that we don't have car trouble. I am a little worried about the weather and length of the trip, but Echo is going to be so worth it:) I will post pics after he is back here safe and sound!:D

Good luck and be safe on your trip!!!! Bring some blankets along!!!

Definitely lots of blankets! I can't believe it is really happening:)

Brrrrrr!!! You might want to go to a pharmacy and get some chemical heat paks just in case of emergency. If the car does have a problem you can use them wrapped in a towel or under the carrier to keep Echo warm.

That's a great idea! Thank you, I will have my hubby pick some up on his way home from work.

how exciting!!

that is a wee bit cold,I'll be praying everything goes well for you!

wow D: And here I am complaining that the high for this weekend is in the 40's, brrrr you have it COLD. Make sure your new eccie isn't outside for long!

Plan is to load his cage and accessories and get him in the truck last (after it is completely warmed up). We are not planning on stopping at all on the way home, so hopefully all will be okay. Too funny about the low being in the 40's there, we are almost completely opposite:(
I just read that it was only 4 degrees warmer here today than it was in Antarctica...why am I here again???

Yes it's going to be cold (-36 with windchill here too) be careful of the icy roads....they are pretty rough here in spots....so I am betting they are no better there if not worse...good luck and remember slow and easy wins the race :D

Sounds like a neat addition to your flock :) Wow ,sounds like me [Id drive that far to get a bird too} :) is it a baby?

Nope, he is 2:) I have only seen him in pictures so far, and am so thrilled to finally meet him tomorrow. My friends think I'm crazy to drive that far, this is why I am so happy to be a part of this forum where people understand:)

Holy cow! I can't imagine such cold weather!!!
Is Echo home yet?

It was a sunny 84 degrees in central Florida yesterday. This is what living in Florida is all about. I love it:)
