After two weeks with us now (as of tomorrow), I thought maybe it was time we could start playing and maybe try to learn a few fun things to do together. Rocky holds up one foot when he wants a snuggle, so I put my open hand in front of the foot and said "high five!" He reached out with his foot (because he was trying to find a place on me to latch on, frankly, LOL) and I said "high five!" as enthusiastically as possible and congratulated him for being so smart. He looked at me like, "Mom's really losing it" but he put up his crest. I did that about three times and then let him step onto my arm and gave him a good snuggle and told him he's a pretty boy. Because I suspect he was abused, and possibly hit, I tried to be very happy and playful about the high five thing and keep my hand low and relaxed so it didn't look like I was going to hit him. It'll take time.
That was the only thing I came up with on short notice this morning, so I want to know from others what are some games to play with him that won't potentially make a troubled 'too nervous? He wanted to play fetch yesterday when my husband was playing with our dog, but we don't want Rocky down on the floor when that's going on (or at all!) because Jack is big and rambunctious.
