Hi there. I'm the owner of a new baby sun conure. I've had him for about two weeks now and I have some questions. Like for starter he's still being bottle fed. When will I know that he's ready to be weaned? As it stands I'm giving him his powdered formula mixed with baby food. I've even given him some solid food but he ( sorry I didn't introduce him. His name is Sonny!) doesn't like it as much as he likes the formula/baby food mix.

My next question is how do I teach him to fly? Right now Sonny can be sitting on his perch or my finger and he'll just throw his wings out and flap really hard. However he hasn't actually lifted off. Is there anything i can do to help him with that or is he still too young? When I bought him the lady said he was about a month old I think. At the time he had practically no feathers. Since I've gotten him though he's almost completely covered expect for his head and under his wings.

And I have one more ( ok actually several more but I figured I need to wrap this up) question. What kind of games/ tricks can I teach him at this age? for the most part he has the up/step up command down but I think that's because whenever I do it I have his bottle in hand. I'm working on teaching him to play dead but he doesn't seem to like it as much and I'm hoping to find a trick or a game that he'll feel more comfortable with. Any advice sent my way would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Most of these questions should have been answered by his breeder.

You can always do simple tricks such as turn around, wave, 'big eagle', etc.
