What do other macaw owners use for traveling? I have a traveling carrier for a few hours, but not anything practical for 1-2 weeks at most to put a macaw in temporarily once I arrive at a destination. Any help is appreciated. If anyone has links to websites as a reference it would be much helpful.

Ot must be very difficult to travel with a macaw in tow. Too bad that spectacular, extra long tail isn't removable for traveling! The tail adds well over a foot to a bird that really isn’t that big without the tail!
Have you considered getting two large folding travel cages, removing the end of one and combining them to make one extra long temporary cage? You could zip tie them together or use little mini padlocks to attach them together so the bird can't take them apart.

This was recently recommended to me for Ava, by someone that uses one when traveling with macaws. It packs flat, & pops up when you get to your destination. Since Ava is a smaller Amazon, the bar spacing is a bit too wide for her, but looks great for a larger bird!

Blue snaps the bars of dog & cat kennels/crates with his beak 😢 he’s been close to impossible to travel with because of this. Not to mention he’s an escape artist once I get past the snapping of cage bars.

Awe, dang! I wish it was easier to find roomy travel cages for the bigger birds!
