Tv top?

Might be a long shot but does anyone have Macgyver type ideas to protect the top of your flat screens to keep little turkey feet and beaks from scratching it? Billy has decided that the TV is his favourite hang out spot and my husband is not pleased with his choice of loitering there.

If the TV is mounted on the wall I would install a narrow shelf close enough to the top that the bird would have no choice but to perch on the shelf. Then you could put some newspaper on it to catch the presents left behind.
