Anyone know how well birds see the detail on a TV? My little girl seems to like to watch the idiot box and was wondering how well they comprehend or distinguish the movement or detail.
I believe they can see Very well! Remember, they also see in the UV spectrum. I know my JoJo takes my iPad away from me, for himself, when he catches me watching parrot videos!
Exceptionally well. They can see more colours and see in better definition than we can as it is their primary sense for predator detection, aside from listening for loud sounds such as a flock call.
The Rickeybird loves TV...
Talking heads (Shopping channels, for example), and music/video channels, where he can learn songs by his apparent soul-mate, J-Lo. Back in the early days of MTV, his true love was Paula Abdul. I heard the first line of the "Rush" chorus day and night in his parrot-y little croak: "Raaaash, rasssh, herry herry baybeeee come to meeee!"
Infidel.
LOL! I havent heard it called "the idiot box" in a long time..LOL.. Sheldon would get all upset when the characters would fight. lazer guns would send him flying. He squawks and carries on for the duration. when the fight is over, he's quiet. I think they may comprehend more than we realize.
Thanks for the feedback. Geddy likes movement I think. Likes to watch hockey if I let her stay up late enough to watch. I will have to see about getting some critter YouTube for her. She does get spooked with loud noise and my surround sound can piss her off.
