Sootie- Yellow-sided GCC
...after Sootie escaped her new travel cage on her first expedition and flew to the top of a huge tree in the park. She got jumped and dive-bombed by a pair of nasty crows and would't come down to me, but kept calling :( Finally she hopped from branch to branch to get low enough for me to reach her by standing on a helpful stranger's shoulders. Now we are home and comfort eating millet

Oh wow, that had to be so terrifying! Thank goodness you have Sootie home with you, safe and sound after her unwanted adventure:)

Most stressful time ever :( She seems totally fine now but is booked into the avian vet tomorrow afternoon for a checkup since she had contact with the other birds and she was munching away on some cherry blossom while she was up there.

That's a good idea to get her checked out, to be on the safe side. Please let me know what happens:)
I bet you are still shaking as well.

What a horrible, scary day! I'm so glad it ended well!!!

snuggles and kisses to be home

Oh my word!!! How terrifying! So happy for you both that it ended well!

I'm sure that was terrifying. So happy to see your baby snuggled safely on your shoulder after that awful experience .

So my little lady had her vet checkup yesterday. She was really well behaved (and fascinated by all the big parrots boarding at the hospital while their mums and dads were out of town!). The vet was awesome and assured my that she is very healthy and well-looked after :) We got a wing trim and I can't help but feel heartbroken when she tries to fly now and just slowly descends to the floor. She's not happy about that at all but luckily doesn't blame me and is just snuggling all the time.

I am so glad she checked out okay after her scary adventure:)

whew, what a relief! I'm so glad you got her back, that is probably one of my worst nightmares! Adorable pics of both you!

I was lucky she came down when she did, it was starting to get dark and I think once the sun went down it would have been game over. Such a relief to have her back where she belongs tucked into my hair!
