I have been trying to educate her, I gave her a page to read and she said she read it

As a separate note, I really wish pet stores would ban sales of animals to people under 18. Or at least have full parental consent (though, most of us know that even that isn't enough... *sigh*)

I agree. She did say her dad told her she could get one, but its not like her dad knows anything about cockatiels either...
