Through the raw community, I have been trying some interesting fruits not particularly common here in the US. In particular, durian and jackfruit (yes, they look very similar, no they are not the same). Does anyone know if either of these would be safe to share with Kiwi? I bet he would *love* jackfruit. It is very juicy and sweet!

And beyond just those 2 particular fruits, is there any safe way to gauge the safety of uncommon/rare fruits and if they are ok for birds? I mean, I would have never guessed avocado would be bad for them had I not been told that. Any insights on determining safety of fruits/veg/nuts/seeds not commonly listed on "safe" lists? Theres a few other things I think he may enjoy trying like sugar cane juice (literally freshly juiced sugar cane) and those spiky orange fruits or starfruit...

The only one you mentioned that I know for sure is safe is starfruit. I have shared it with Zilla, who wasn't overly impressed, but I might try again with Kick here now.

Durian banned! - Smelly Durian Fruit Banned in Hotel, Metro! | The Travel Tart Blog

Excerpt from internet article:
The name of the durian fruit comes from its distinctive spiky appearance (“duri” is the Malay word for thorn), and it is said to have a delicious, sweet taste and custardy texture.

Yet its high levels of sulphates gives the fruit a powerful and at times off-putting odour, compared a little harshly by some to gone-off meat, sewage or dead rats. It is so powerful the fruit has been banned from many airports, hotels and the Singapore rail network.

It is nonetheless considered a delicacy and, as with strong cheeses, experts say the smellier the better.

April.... Judging by Andrews reaction above (and I've NEVER seen him not be able to eat EVERYTHING on the show).... Kiwi says Noooooo mom!!!!!!!!!!
