Hi everyone!
During the fall I wrote about the blue fronted amazon called Ebbe that I rescued.
As some of my might recall, he was very afraid of hands and not really handled the last five years or so.
I won't lie - it's been hard. He's been very hormonal and at some times I felt like giving up. However, we got through spring and even though some days are tough, it's so worth it.
We became members in a local parrot club and made lot of new friends and has gotten very helpful tips.
He's been so fun to be around and makes me laugh every day. We have also done a lot of progress:
We've worked on his fears (sticks and fabric) and he's now a lot more self confident.
I love this frikkin bird so much.
We also started to harness train. It went well at first but I overstep my boundaries and he's now very suspicious of his harness. I'm aware that it might be possible he's not a harness-accepting parrot but it would enrich our lives so much. Anyone who's got any tips on how to proceed with an adult parrot?
The best thing about all this is not really the cuddles or the tricks, it's how happy he's become. His happiness is so honest and it makes me laugh even if I'm having a bad day

- He can do some tricks
- He's started to talk (a lot)
- He's not really afraid of my hands and he allows me to scratch him
- And most importantly - he's learned how to play!
