Hi guys, as you know, my boyfriend and I brought in Kira. Unfortunately, she was extremely loud. I have heard CAGS before and she was much more amplified. It seemed as though she was around smaller birds before, because she was making chirping sounds in an extremely amplified way. She actually caused my hearing to cut out twice in my right ear! It was awful. She's a really sweet bird though, she stepped right up, liked to flap her wings and eats lots of fruits and Harrison's. She went to the vet a few days later. The vet said it appears she had a fractured shoulder, and neurological issues due to possibly falling a lot. It was so sad. We got ibuprofen for her and as soon as we started giving it to her, she behaved even better than before. Poor thing must have been in pain. Our vet convinced us to try to find her a new foster home though because of the dust African greys cause, and my poor Beakos aspergillosis. We agreed, and someone from the rescue stepped right up. We met in a parking lot at her soccer game and she was super nice and caring. I gave her the medicine, toys, and Kira. then I got in the carand cried a little while. It was not meant to be. She has been updating me and is giving Kira her meds. The previous owner asked me how the vet visit went and I said "seems like she had a fractured shoulder, vet said she must have fallen a lot " I was expecting his reply to be denying it, but he admitted they left her on the counter and kitchen table and she fell often. Its out of our hands now, I guess we are an amazon family of 3!!!!
