Remember how long 4 months!! It took to get my flock well.
Wishing him a recovery
Has his weight changed?,

His weight is stable at about 82 grams.

I hate seeing him so miserable.
I know what it’s like having bad allergies, sneezing all the time.

Did it take months for you to see improvement in your birds?

If I had seen even a little improvement I would have continued the first antibiotic.
It’s the breathing that is most critical.

Birds sneeze because they can’t blow their nose like us humans.
It’s more a voluntary thing than a reflex.

I should mention that twice in the past Lucky had a bloody nose.
At least a year ago and he was given antibiotics. He had no other symptoms, just a red stain around each nostril.

Things went up and down a lot ....but yes they improved slowly.

The rust colored stains that show up better on lighter feathers are indicators of respiratory infection, it does not have to be blood. My Cloudy the white budgie had those rust color stains above nostrils, it wasn't blood. Tho I guess I dont know exactly why a respiratory infection causes this. But my vet recognized it as a sign of infection.

I wish your guys breathing was better too. I dont know how to help....

RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
Good choice for now, Wes. Hopefully another antibiotic will help, but difficult if the vet doesn't know the root of problem.

This morning Lucky is showing frank signs of blood from his nose.

I emailed the photo of Lucky to my CAV and called as soon as they were open.

CAV is not in today but will be in tomorrow. cav office will forward my email to CAV's personal email.
They can work him in tomorrow if the Dr. feels it is needed.

on top of all this trying to get my taxes done before it's too late and I am on call for jury duty.

Jury duty is just about the last thing I want to do, wearing a mask all day would drive me crazy. So lucky to have retired before masks were mandatory at my work place.

Wes.

Hope they can work Lucky in tomorrow, perhaps latest symptoms will help with definitive diagnosis?

When it rains it pours... hopefully you'll avoid jury duty with mask restrictions. My personal track record is almost never being called for a case.
