Guillermo "Memo" - Yellow-Sided Green Cheek Conure
(Hatched 9/23/10, Home 12/20/10)
Hi All!

So, Memo is growing by leaps and bounds. He is barely recognizable from the tiny ball of fluff he was just a couple of weeks ago. He is just over 6 weeks old now and he and the rest of the clutch are becoming very brave exploring and practicing flying. As the baby, he is doing his best to keep up with his older brothers and sisters. He is absolutely gorgeous.

It looks like he will be ready to come home early-mid December. Which gives me a little more time to prepare (and obsess)...

I'll post the new pictures later this morning. Thanks for all the info.
Will. :)

i bet your excited to bring him home... sounds like he's doing really well.. i hope you enjoy your time together :) xx

OMG Memo has changed so much from the previous pictures you posted.
He is getting cuter and cuter.
Counting the days with you + -
Such an exciting time, before you know it, he will be sitting on your lap having a conversation with you

We all share your excitment of your little one coming to his new home.

Here are some new pics of Memo taken yesterday. They do grow so fast!

wjh-nyc are to blame............ for so many of us members wanting to get another bird, time and time again.
These pictures of Memo, just get us pinning all over again.
He sure is a handsome little fella
How many more days?????
Thanks for sharing

Ugh! Actually its about 4 more weeks of waiting...

I guess I am about as prepared as one can be. Its funny when I brought my first dog Gemini home I knew nothing about adopting a dog and had no idea what I was doing... Didn't think twice about it... But this tiny little bird is all I think about as I prepare.

Gemini is the love of my life, so here's hoping I get lucky again!

You sure have prepared yourself so well for Memo's arrival, I am so proud of you.
I wish many people, were more knowledgeable and prepared before taking a giant step of becoming a guardian.
Not long now ...........
At least you know more or less what to expect.

How exciting! As difficult as the waiting can be, you are going to eventually come home with a healthy, well-adjusted baby. Visit often so he has an easier adjustment when he comes home. We did that with Jade and Ruby and they both have a very easy adjustment to their new home.

Sometimes the anticipation is one of the best parts :) I remember when I bought my Tiki he still had about 6 weeks left before he could come home. I spent all the extra time searching for toys, a cage and al kinds of other fun bird accessories! It really works out really great when you can just buy things here and there as you see them... and was much more affordable for my family than buying it all at once!

True. Friends who visit my home are quite perplexed by all the bird toys and accessories, but lack of a bird... I do a lot of on-line shopping... ;)

I started the process months ago and have done as much reading, research, and planning as possible. I am at the point now where I have to stop myself, relax, and remember that the true test will be when he comes home. I am already planning for a couple of days off to enjoy and watch him after he comes home...

Its been a lot of fun now and I know it will only get better!
:D

Here are a couple of pictures of my Memo with a little 3 month old Lovie "Pierre" with whom he shares a home (but not a cage)... As the baby of 5, Memo gets a little extra attention from everyone it seems (I can relate!!!).

Enjoy, Will

Just gorgeous.

Absolutely beautiful. Thankyou for sharing!

Yeah, he's a cutie... And is doing so well. Bringing him home will be very interesting...

Memo is cute i was looking at getting a yellow-sided, but i found a black capped (aka Rocky) that i clicked with as soon as i started playing with him when i was searching for birds. I get to bring him home on friday and im going out of my mind i want to bring him home now lol

Good for you cg... You can do me a favor and fill me on what to expect when he comes home...

I am desperate for first hand info...

Best of luck and enjoy! Will.

For sure ill let you know how he acts when i bring him home.
