Uploading Pictures to Gallery

I tried to upload a photo to the gallery and I think I was successful.
In the end it said that it had to be approved by a moderator or somethign to that effect. But the photo has never appeared.
What might have happened?

How long ago did you try? I don't see anything in the queue to be approved in the galleries. I get an email when someone uploads a new item and I've approved all the items that I've received emails for.

It was yesterday or the day before. Let me try again and see what happens.

OK. I just did it again, and it appeared. No approval required. What do you think happened?

I actually removed the moderate images. I don't think it's neccessary yet.
