Venezuela

Those pictures are fantastic!

Omg I love pix like that! The history of one person is just as important and interesting as anything else! Thank you for sharing!!!

Yay! How cool are those pictures

Thank you!

Holy smokes, talk about an incredible past. I wish I had photos from when my father lived in several African countries while his parents taught in the villages. His stories were so cool.

Thanks for sharing! That was exceptionally awesome and neat to read and see :)

Reading about all the creatures who could have ended your young life, and your comments about it being a part of life and learning to deal with it reminds me of life growing up around the farm. Sure, waaaaay safer than the jungle, but I remember people's parents saying things like "oh my how dangerous! I can't believe they let you do that!" But for a farm kid some things are just a necessary part of life. You learn how not to get killed, you use your head, and you live life!

I love this thread, Mark. Quite the childhood experience/education, eh? Thank you for sharing the experiences of your youth in the South American jungles.

And no, you didn't bore us at all. Quite the opposite, in fact.

My Dad lived in Kenya for awhile. They had "camp Kittys." Somewhere I've got a picture of him sitting on a couch with a Cheetah on either side of him, paws across his lap, one hand on each, getting their ears scratched.

AWESOME pictures Mark, thank you for sharing!

Those are some awesome pictures, so glad you posted them. It is kind of funny to relate Australia to Venezuela as over here we have all kinds of venomous snakes and other deadly creatures and just like you we can't go into the bush without a snake stick. Anyway those were some impressive pictures, thanks. :D
