Hello, I have an 8 month old Sun named Phoebe. I had to take her to the ER last night because she was having difficulty breathing and she kinda fainted (but still conscious) into my hands after a glide to the floor.

She has some sort of respiratory issue, although it’s not certain what the cause it. The doctor sent me home with some antibiotics for her.

She’s not *fainting all the time, I assume that only happens if she gets worked up enough. But I can consistently hear her breathing, and sometimes a whistle.

I have the antibiotic from the doctor, and the doctor also said her symptoms look pretty mild. So ideally she will get better without any more complications.

I did some research and unless I’m wrong, something like a humidifier can help birds with respiratory issues.

But I’m worried sick. I lost my last bird, so now every health issue puts me on red alert.

Is there anything else I can do to help Phoebe feel/get better?

I'm so sorry Phoebe's not doing so well, @LegendClappitao! Last time I had to take one of mine to an emergency after hours vet they were also unable to diagnose exactly what the issue was, because they did not have an avian specialist in their clinic. Thankfully in my Lovejoy's case he was fine. If you have a regular avian vet that you see, I would strongly recommend you take her there for follow up, and hopefully they should be able to tell you what the problem is. Even if she has no further issue, IMO it's worth it for your own peace of mind. đź’–
