Today I went out with my BFF and we put together a little iphone movie of Rosie flying up on the hill with a little bit of wind. She had a lot of trouble flying down(we did down twice) and neither time did she make it to me, the first time she tries so hard and hovers over me while the second time she flies off like an arrow at high speed. Flying down is a important thing to learn and she does know how to do it, but flying down in wind is much much harder. Even though she failed to make it to me it's a important experience for her so she knows what to do and is prepared encase she ever gets out.

Flying up was a different matter, she did awesome at flying up and always landed on my hand. I'm so proud of her, flying in the wind is difficult and half a year ago this would of been impossible to do because of how unfit she was.

Here's the first video,

And here's a few slow motion clips, I love these I think they're so cool.

I'm going to try re uploading it :( did the second video say the same thing?

Yes, the second one worked fine!

Amazing video! And I saw Rosie having to "bite" so she could properly land. Wonderful job you are doing with her!!!!!!

I'm re saving the second one with different music, that's the only thing I can think of that wouldn't of made it available. It should be ready in like 20 minutes and I'll re post it here

Thanks :D I actually don't even feel when her beak touches my hand because it happens so fast. She doesn't normally do that but the wind is a old foe trying to make things harder for her (one day they'll me frienemies lol)

Changing the song worked! yay!

Here's the link, I fixed it in the first post as well

I felt like I was watching a documentary! That's a compliment! Wonderful job on the video....and with Rosie.

Just watched both videos of Rosie. They were so neat and the harness doesn't seem to slow her down one little bit. Loved it. Thanks for sharing:)

This was her best flight so far with her harness on, I have to put it on perfect or it bothers her and she won't fly well.

Love the video! Our Rosie is a very good flyer, despite the fact that the previous owners hacked her feathers off. Instead of the normal clips they literally cut every feather on each wing about half way down  Not sure why they did that, thankfully she is still able to fly. I cant wait to be able to start free flying with her.

Oh, I saw a RB2 kind of like your Rosie a few weeks ago. This one was male, he was so dark his chest was red and his grey was a really really dark steel gray, very pretty.

Rosie had a prettybad clip too when I got her. She had flown outside, landed and the fence, then flew back inside to her cage. My friend was so terrified of her getting lost that she cut 10 feathers off each wing.

That's amazing you saw one like her! I love hearing about any being seen, it makes me feel like there's hope for the dark galahs to actually be known as a morph one day as more people see them:D

What great videos. That is a really good job you did.

I saw him at a foster's home that had the last male M2 we looked at. He was her personal pet. I couldn't believe how dark he was. I wish I could of gotten a pic,he was such a dark red, the normal dark pink body of a reg RB2 was the color of his crest.

I sometimes worry about really dark birds having health problems... but as long as they check out A-OK on the blood panels, then I guess there's no reason to worry.

Finally saw the first video! It's great!

Most likely if he's her personal pet and he is healthy and vet cleared his color is probably natural. I put some photos below showing how Rosie used to be super dark red when she was unhealthy and had a calcium deficiency.

That's very true, Rosie used to be blood red because she had no feather dust and her feathers where greasy from a bad diet and the beginning of organ failure.

Unfortunately I took this photo before I realized it probably wasn't a good idea to put her next to some random bird.

If you compare that to a current photo you can see how much better she looks, her feathers are dusty rather then greasy is vet cleared healthy. Rosie's pink is still more reddish, but it's much softer looking. Her crest is the color of a normal galahs breast.
