Wanted African Grey, Albany NY area

I am looking for a African Grey that is at a rescue/ being rehomed within a couple hours of Albany NY. I currently have two parrots a IRN female and a Senegal (female, I think).
I am not looking to buy a baby from a breeder, however if there are AG breeders near the Albany area, please let me know... just in case I do not find a rescue

You contacted AHW already, right? How'd that work out for you?? Too far?

No, it is not too far. I mean it is 7 hours round trip and I will need to make 4 trips before I can bring home a bird. That is a lot of driving but worth it. I am keeping my options open. There could be a AG that is much closer that needs a home. In the mean time, I ordered the avian biotech kits to do testing. Once the results are in, I can schedule the first trip. She said they are getting more AGs in next week. They will not be ready for a month or so anyhow. She has been so kind and amazing! I also purchased two of these for our vehicles. It made me giggle!

Always check craigslist! I see AG all the time.

If you do go see birds remember to change clothes, shoes, and shower after meeting any of these birds. You don't know how they keep them and what disease testing has been done. You don't want to bring anything home with you and/or transfer anything to AHW. If you have F10 that would help you out too.

AHW is supposed to have quite a few greys coming in next week. I think the majority coming in are actually supposed to be greys. We also have an ekkie transferring over to the shelter next week from vet quarantine. Plus, we still have Tweety at the shelter an ekkie I posted on our adoptable bird threads here. Not sure if they have talked to you about diet and such for them though...
