Congrats. Please quarantine the new bird so it doesn't give any disease to your existing. A different room with door shut and shower and hand washing in between contact with each bird.

Very cute! And yes, please quarantine. I already made that mistake myself and the new bird passed on a bacterial infection to one of my other birds. Some are airborne!

Aw so cute, as stated above please quaritine your new bird. And if at all possible put him in a different room on the opposite side of the house. Always keep a change of clothes handy so you don't pass anything off to your other bird. Andy it would be a good idea to keep a bottle of non-scented hand sanitizer in each room.

We are keeping him quarantined. How long do you all suggest for the quarantine? He is doing well so far. He will not step up while in or on his cage. Once out I can get him to step on my hand though not on command. He allows me to touch his head, back, stomach, and feet. He is very curious and wants to explore everything. :-D

I would quarantine at least 30 days. Taking him to a vet to be tested for every disease they can test for would be awfully expensive. Of course he should go in for a wellness check, as should your amazon (but take them separately).

What a cutie!!! Quakers are so adorable!

Congratulations! :) An Amazon and a Quaker together in the same house will assure that there will never be a dull moment at your place! :D
