Hello,

We have been so busy this holiday season and now we have done something really special! We decided to get Paris a friend (no not in the same cage, I am not insane). I am hoping that even if they never share a cage or get on super well that Paris will at least have someone to talk to and relate to that is more her size without and HUGE beak flying at her face all the time (I am talking to you Finley). Without further adieu meet:

North!

She (dna pending) is a black capped conure and now we officially have 4 different types of conures at out house! North is about 7 weeks old and weaned and has been eating solids because I saw her. She still isn't sure of where the water is so I have to offer it to her now and then so she gets used to it. We have had her about 20 hours as of now. She is a bit scared and a bit nippy and doesn't know how to "step up" but we're working it already. I am not a fan of just leaving the bird along for a week or whatever, bleh. The earlier they trust humans the better and I am not scared of a few bites here and there. Anyways if anyone has a black capped conure any advise would be welcome.

What a lovely new addition and buddy for Paris!!

Welcome, sweet North! LOVEEE the pic of you two!

Such a diverse flock now!!

Congratulations!! She is so cute!:smile015:

Congrats! I love Black-Capped Conures, I saw a hand-fed baby at Petco last year and it was hard to walk away from him (of course I had to get him out and say hello...It helped that he bit the hell out of my hand, that made it a little easier to say "Okay, bye bye!")...They are so adorable...

Now I've got Parrot-Fever again...damn it...

Oh goodness - what a cutie :). Hopefully North and Paris provide each other with some company!

Ditto EllenD parrot-fever here too! Welcome new baby North, what a cutie-pie!

Oooo such a cut baby! Hopefully it works out for Paris and the new baby to become buddies.

Well so far Paris is very interested in Northie. Obviously I'm trying my best to keep the new little one away from the flock until I vet her which will be Wednesday. About the black capped Conures and biting...yeah they can pack a punch with that little beak and she nailed me a few times today. However, I was holding a bunch of birds at various pet stores and wow I've never been bit that much or as hard. This little cinnamon green cheek bit me harder than Finley ever has and I was gushing blood. Needless to say I decided perhaps he and I we're not a match lol.

While Cytrynka's bites do annoy me, it's the bite of Fiona (small lovebird) which I just can't stand.. Almost every her bite ends up with blood drawn.. So it's not the matter of bird's size, it's the matter of beak sharpness ;)

By the way, enjoy your new flock, North!

North is precious! I so hope that North and Paris become buddies!
I am a conure addict, we have 6 (5 different species) and I wish more got along with each other. Phoe (CBC) and Jax (GCC) are best friends, Jury the Jenday doesn't like anyone, and Jazz (Sun) and Psyche (BTC) are in love. Eros (our other BTC) loves Psyche but her heart belongs to Jazz.

Welcome to the flock North, may you s have a joyful and healthy long life.

4! come now you're starting to hog them all ;)

he's a real cutie, I do like the black cap look

Congratulations! I saw my previous congratulations had disappeared ? Weird. Anyway more pictures please?
