When we first started looking at birds, i saw this little guy on craigslist, untamed, 5 months old and with a sibling. He was asking 50$. We thought about it and decided an untamed bird wasnt a good choice. 3 months later and i see the poor little guy again, i really need to avoid craigslist. This time hes asking 30$. I was so torn, but i didnt want him to become a house jumper....i know, i cant save them all. We went to see him, he was in a tiny cage with 2 small toys and the owner was carrying him around on a ladder. His feathers look butchered and scraggly. I had to bring him home. We were told he has never stepped up and never bitten. Well, he steps up just fine, doesnt bite and just seems very timid and would rather avoid. So, with time and love, i think he will come around. :-)
We were going to call him ninja but went with Bandit instead.

30$ for a nanday.... :|

Wow.
Glad he's with you, good luck and I'm sure he'll be just fine, he's only a baby too! Wow. Keep us updated :)

What a cutie!!!! I love the name too! Glad he finally has a good home!

good thing I went with the name bode ;) these birds are super funny!

You did a good thing. I know that you know enough to do right by him. Good luck!

He looks like a really fun bird. My daughter had a cat for a long time who was black and white called Bandit. I think in a process of her divorce her husband did some real damage to the cat with poison. How awful that was.

Thats terrible. I dont know how anyone can hurt an animal.

handsome bird, congrats I like the name Alison and sweetie pie:D

How is bandit's volume?

I read on a few websites that nandays were rated louder than sun conures but made noise less often. I have to disagree with that, but I wanted to see what you thought.

Disagree easily. When that sun screamed i waited for my ears to bleed, lol. Then again, it might just depend on the individual bird.

Congrats!! I've been crying over CL for weeks now (I too need to avoid!). After Sugar comes home on Monday, We'll be at capacity for us (beyond, actually, if I'm being honest) until we buy a house. Then Hubs had better watch out! ;)

He looks pretty good for the crappy situation it sounded like he was in. I bet he'll be very happy with you!

Now there is a man who would wake up to a very strong burning sensation in his most sensitive area.

Not to derail the thread...

$30..and so young..wow..handsome guy and so lucky you secretly browse craigslist to see what kind of birds are on there ;)

There is a future serial killer....scary! I'm so happy your daughter got away safely.
